Action-Plan: Growth of Europe

Growth of Europe

Main task for the future forum of JCI 2012:

Internationalization of the future study “Germany 2020 – Business: Future”

Goal: Development of a policy paper

1. Step: Topics

1.1. Status Quo

1.1.1 How is JCI Germany positioned? (Focus, future study, ambassador teaching etc.)

1.1.2 How are other national organizations positioned?

1.1.3 What is the role of JCI Germany in Europe today?

1.2 Make changes possible – positive influence of the society’s development through Successful Strategic Positioning (SSP).

Growth of Europe: The study and the successful strategic positioning – is it possible to transfer them into other countries? Are there transfer possibilities? How could they look like?

1.3 Examples for different starting points in several countries.

1.3.1 “Social coldness” is stepping forward in Greece. The pension scheme implodes and there are no expectations for new jobs. Hopelessness and frustration are only some of the examples, existing in Greece.

1.3.2 In Portugal, young and well-educated people are leaving their country for jobs they cannot find in Portugal. The result will be a collapsing pension scheme and hopelessness for the people who will stay in Portugal.

1.4 Analyze

What could JCI do to get involved and to become active, to create with new networks and local communities, to foster education initiatives and to support business start-ups etc, so that the local stakeholders are strengthening local development and JCI Europe is motivating others to participate, Growth of Europe?

Goal: A positive influence of the social development in other European countries.

2. Step: Development of a toolbox

To make the study sizable and tangible, a toolbox should present different arrangements that different associations could execute. This toolbox should help to illustrate that every one of us can change something. Leading by example, we would like to motivate the other national organizations to use this study for them to create an energy that comes out of the projects and actions in every local community. The experiences of every country should be the starting point to develop their own study.

At this point, we would like to execute the study in a different way. We see the possibility to start with necessary initiatives to help with concrete actions.

– A special concept for a world café “future study”

– A concept for a fireside chat and/or panel discussion

– A handout with short descriptions of executed projects

– Etc.

3. Step: Action: Future-weekend with the motto Growth of Europe

An international future weekend would help to bring different European countries together, to talk about the study and to create common activities for the several participants.

– Weekend: December 1st-2nd 2012 in Frankfurt a.M.

– App. 25-30 participants

– Starts: 12pm

– Workshop future forum

– E-xamples for projects to execute the study

– Allocation into groups:

1. Task: Formulation of actions and projects that could be executed directly in the countries.

2. Task: How could we support each other as one global team?

– Presentation of the results

– Common formulation of a timeline and project schedule for 2013

– Discussion and final round
